SANT RAIMON 2017: IT IS PART OF YOUR HISTORY!
It’s already here, the Barcelona Lawyers Festivity. From the 8th to 19th February 2017, the Barcelona Bar Association will be full of activity to celebrate, as is tradition, the Festivity of Sant Raimon de Penyafort. This year, in addition to the usual events, we will be holding the 4th edition of the International Trade Fair of the Legal Profession, and we will commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Fédération des Barreaux d’Europe, the FBE, as well as the organization of some Training Conferences.
The Formal Session will be the most important institutional act, and will serve to publicly acknowledge the continuous dedication to the legal profession of colleagues who reach 25, 50 and 75 years of membership. But it will not be the only thing. We will also have a symbolic gown event to welcome the new members, the delivery of legal prizes; and civil and religious ceremonies to remember colleagues who are no longer with us.
As for cultural activities, our library, which we have just renewed, will be particularly prominent. You can visit it and show it to your children, or learn about the wealth of legal knowledge that it houses..
The most playful part of Sant Raimon will be the Theatre, the concert of our Choir, the Amadeu Maristany Speech Contest of our young lawyers and the Diverticab, the party for the little ones of the house. Furthermore, in the sports field, we will reintroduce the Paddle Tournament, which will be added to Football 7.
All, without forgetting solidarity. On the one hand, with the Solidarity Market, an initiative that we have been promoting for five years and where for a whole day you will find the products and information of different NGOs with which the ICAB collaborates. And, on the other hand, with a Concert for the benefit of the Ignasi de Gispert Foundation.
In parallel to Sant Raimon, and under the motto Next stop: Barcelona connection, the 4th International Trade Fair of the Legal Profession will promote networking between lawyers from different countries with the aim of promoting their internationalization.
In addition, coinciding with the 25th anniversary of the FBE, the Meetings of Barcelona-Memorial Jacques Henry will take place, which will focus on the issue of unaccompanied minors and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
At the Lawyers’ Festivity, training could not be lacking, an essential point of our profession. For this reason, and as an outstanding innovation, we will present, over the course of the three days of Sant Raimon, more than 20 free training proposals for ICAB members and associates. All of them, on hot topics, thought to inform and keep attendees up-to-date.
I trust that this broad program will be of your interest. We have prepared it with the greatest sensitivity possible, to reach all of you, esteemed colleagues of the city, who daily contribute to making our Bar Association great.
I hope to count on your participation!
